Configure Application's Categories and Tags
Each application can be assigned one optional Category and any number of Tags. Categories and Tags together define the conditions that determine which applications are shown in each application catalog.
I am intrigued, tell me more.
When you open the Applications' page, by clicking Apps > Multiplier in the Jira Nav Bar, you will find the list of all the applications we have discovered from your Identity Providers, along with any custom applications you might have created.
In this example, we can see there are some applications connected to Okta, and some custom applications. What follows is identical for both idP sourced and custom applications.
Right there on the table, you will find a Category column. You can edit the Category by clicking on the unassigned placeholder, or change a currently selected one. The change will be saved upon selection.
At the moment, Tags are not editable from the table, so click on the application for which you would like to edit it's Tags. Lets use Microsoft Office 365 as an example. The app profile should appear.
From this profile screen, you will be able to change the Tags and the Category. Tags are created on demand, and are automatically removed if no other application are using them.
Changes on this screen are automatically saved.
Keep in mind that regardless of the Tags and Categories configured as conditions for an application catalog, only APPROVED applications will be displayed in them.
