Enabling Access Management and Self-Service for Okta

This allows employees to request access to apps in Okta from the Jira Service Management portal, and optionally routes the request to their manager or the application owner for approval in Jira.

Enabling this feature, your employee will be able to request an application by simply selecting it from the application catalog displayed on a request type creation screen on the service portal, and request it with a single click.

Once the manager approves the request (if approval is enabled), Okta assigns the user to the group associated to the requested Access Type, which automatically provisions the app.

End users get what they need more quickly, and removes the need for IT to manually manage individual requests.

This guide will walk you through the steps needed to set up Multiplier's self service access request workflow feature once you've connected your Okta account.

Curating Applications

Once you have connected to your Jumpcloud account, you should be able to see all your applications in the Applications page (Jira Nav > Apps > Multiplier).

Only APPROVED applications can appear in an application catalog. Be sure to update the status of all the applications you wish to make available for provisioning through an application catalog.

Application Catalogs can be configured to display applications matching certain tags and categories, allowing you to display different applications in different catalogs. This would be a good moment to configure Categories and Tags for your curated applications.

Once you have decided which applications should be available for provisioning, continue by creating and configuring an application catalog.
